Wow so this post is loooong overdue but I still wanted to write it. Thanks to everyone who came out to the farm for our party, it was a huge success and above all else, it was fun! For inquiring minds - the 50/50 winner was Tim Moorhead and he won 550 bucks!

Special thanks to the bridal party and parents for being so awesome and helpful and a super special thank you to my MOH Amy!!! You are amazing, this party would not have been anywhere close to fun if it weren’t for your hard work and ideas!!

Less than 4 months to go and I’m getting soooo excited!!! I added a hotel information page to the site so for any of you out of towners take a peek at the sidebar.

The stag and drag is finally upon us. I hope you can come out tomorrow for the chicken bbq! There will be lots of tasty food. Plenty of beer to drink, jello shots, Smirnoff type drinks and of course soda and water. There’s going to be horseshoes, cornhole, LCR, beer pong, and lots more fun. Plan on camping overnight with us, its going to be a blast!

We’ve got our Stag’nDrag in the works. Its going to be at Murl’s family’s farmhouse in Findley Lake on Saturday, August 30th. More information to come soon now that we’ve got the location nailed down. Be ready for some fun games and yummy food!

So I’ve recently been introduced to wishpot.com - its amazing! We have been putting off registering because we couldn’t decide on a place that we liked enough to register at but wishpot.com is exactly what we were looking for. Not only is it good for our registry but we can keep track of things we want to buy other people, things we want to get each other, things that we’ve bought in the past and would like to remember a brand or whatever - pretty much a shopaholics dream site.

Tomorrow we are going to talk to a baker about a cake! Oh and we booked our flight to Costa Rica!! Its going to be one amazing honeymoon! More details on that soon.

Okay so I’ve been told by a few people in the last couple days that I am totally slacking on this journal. So I finally found some down time to just relax and type away.

First up — we got our flowers pretty much taken care of! We are going through Larese Floral Design on Peach St. in Erie. They do an amazing job and frequently work with the Ambassador. Carl, the designer [ and owner? ] was really straightforward and helped us figure things out pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone!

Next up — honeymoon! We found a travel agent here in North East who seems really fantastic. She doesn’t have a webpage up as of right now so I can’t link you up to her but I’ll give you her number in case you are needing to make travel plans.  Paula McGaughey - 866-725-0150. 

So we’ve agreed upon Costa Rica - its going to be fantastic!! We’re working on details but so far we know we are going to see a rainforest, a volcano, the beach and some hot springs. I’m so excited!

Look for a new page soon about dates and details for everything. Oh and for the engagement announcement - it should be in the Corry and North East papers within the next week or two.

Mom’s been pretty sick the past few weeks so we had to cancel our appointments with the florist and the tasting at the Ambassador. Nothing new regarding the planning for now but thought I’d update a little.

I think we’ve changed our minds on the honeymoon, possibly thinking Costa Rica now. Guess we’ll see, but we need to get that taken care of soon according to suggested time lines.

We went to a stag and drag last weekend and are looking forward to our own. I’ll create a new page with information about that, so look for that soon.

On Saturday we took a trip down to Pittsburgh to check out bridesmaid dresses — it was another successful trip! We found a nice dress that came in the right color [ which proved to be a slight issue up around here ] that even had detailing in it similar to my dress. So my girls, my triple A, are covered and I hope they like the dress more than the other one that I was trying to decide between. I don’t usually have a hard time making up my mind but I had a little bit of trouble with this. Partly because I think planning a wedding shouldn’t be this easy, should it? So I second guess myself for that reason.

It was a bit of an unusual trip, I didn’t like Bridal Beginning as much the second time around. I’m hoping to just buy the dresses there and find someone else to tailor them. I’m definitely learning a lot about customer service through this whole process and I look forward to implementing some of the good things I’ve witnessed and definitely staying away from the bad stuff!

So we crossed off another big thing from the to do list this week. On Monday we met with DJ Michael John and were very impressed with him. He’s a young guy that totally understood where we were coming from and could envision what we were talking about as we explained how we wanted the night to go. His forte is wedding receptions that are elegant but fun. I think he will do a great job. And no…you cannot request the chicken dance — its already been discussed. Sorry

I had NO idea it could be so hard to find a DJ. The few that we contacted didn’t really respond too quickly or seem motivated in any way to get back to us. Luckily Mike doesn’t possess these characteristics and we now have one less thing to worry about now!
